Demographic Planning. Demographic and Family Policy

The target group of the training was officials at managerial and expert positions in the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and in the Executive Agencies at the Minister of the Labour and Social Policy as well as in the social partners and NGOs. During that training the stress has been put on the National Demographic Strategy of the Republic of Bulgaria (2006-2020), which main purpose is a retardation in the population decrease rate setting a trend to its stabilization in a long term plan, an incensement in the birth-rate and provision of a high quality of the human capital including the people with their health condition, education, abilities and skill for the period 2006-2020.

The seminar was covering the following issues:

- The demographic processes in Bulgaria – current trends and policies for their management. Planning, prognostication and monitoring of the demographic processes;

- National Demographic Strategy of the Republic of Bulgaria (2006-2020);

- Balance of the population, investment in the human capital – the possible answer of all the demographic processes in Bulgaria is the provision of stable country development;
